How to convert WebP to JPG
- 1
Drop WebP files
One photo or a batch. Files are checked by their .webp extension.
- 2
Set JPG quality
92 is a strong default for photos. Lower it if you need a smaller file.
- 3
Download the JPGs
Save a single JPG, or a ZIP when you converted several.
Good to know
JPG is still the file most email apps, forms, and print shops expect. If a site rejects a WebP upload, converting it to JPG locally is faster than hunting for an old desktop tool.
JPG cannot store transparency. Any transparent pixels are placed on white. A quality slider lets you trade a bit of sharpness for a smaller file. Metadata such as GPS is left behind.
Frequently asked questions
What happens to transparent WebP pixels?
They become white. JPG has no transparency. Use WebP to PNG if you need to keep a transparent background.
Will the JPG contain location data from the WebP?
No. The new file is pixels only. Camera and GPS metadata are not copied.
Is this a good way to shrink a WebP?
Only if you also need a JPG. To make a photo smaller and keep WebP, use the image compressor.
Does conversion leave my computer?
No. Your browser does the work. Closing the tab discards the files from memory.
